Saccharomyces Beer Cafe


The ever-growing Fish Lane precinct in South Brisbane gained a new resident in Novmember 2015, when Saccharomyces Beer Cafe is due to opened to the public. With a strong focus on beer and matched food, the cafe and bar takes its moniker from saccharomyces cerevisiae, the species of yeast that is instrumental in both the brewing and baking process. With craft beer a major offering Saccharomyces boasts ten constantly rotating beer taps and a plethora of bottled beers in the fridge. Situated in the courtyard of 99 Melbourne Street and fronting Fish Lane, Saccharomyces opens for breakfast, lunch and coffee during the day, and as a bar with Indonesian-influenced food, hoagies and charcuterie come night. Must-try meals include Indonesian slow cooked beef with Dutch slaw, oven baked chicken wings with your choice of three sauces, smoked cheddar mac & cheese and potato roti with dry cured bacon and quail eggs.
