Pawpaw

Located in a old Queenslander on the leaf-laden corner of Potts and Stanley Street East in Woolloongabba, The Venzin Group’s flagship venue Pawpaw is well known for its sumptuous offering of all-day modern Asian fare with a particular focus on Thai eats. Most breakfast options are served until 3:00 pm, including potato-hash cakes with poached eggs, turmeric hummus, smashed avocado, haloumi, beetroot relish and dukkah, and the breakfast burrito with scrambled egg, beans, spinach, cheese and sour cream. For pastry lovers, there is even a weekend bakery pop-up that slings a range of sweet-tooth satisfying treats like homemade doughnuts (flavours like strawberry cheesecake, Milo, and custard-filled will make your mouth water) and double-baked croissants. Further into the day you’ll find a delectable lunch menu – think the ever-popular beef-cheek massaman curry, schnitzel burger with herbed fries and crumbed barramundi fish tacos.

When it comes to nighttime cuisine, Pawpaw really pulls out all of the punches with an Asian-inspired menu of small, large and share dishes. Steamed pork belly bao, pineapple fried rice and ginger stir-fry all feature on the flavour-filled dinner menu. Pawpaw is also fully licensed and offers a long list of cocktail winners like the cold brew espresso martini made on the house-blend Monocle bean. Plus, the eatery even has a stylish private function room for intimate events such as weddings, birthdays and baby showers. Pawpaw is open seven days for breakfast and lunch from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, with dinner sittings available from Wednesday to Sunday 5:00 pm until late. Diners can make a reservation online (the restaurant can accomodate group bookings up to 20 people) or takeaway is available via Bopple.
