Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts

The Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts is an integrated creative art space housing contemporary dance and music, visual art, contemporary chamber circus, multimedia, indigenous theatre, youth arts and screen culture. Since it opened in 2001 the centre has fostered programs of innovation in visual, performing and screen-based culture, supporting the development of contemporary arts practice for Queensland artists. The centre builds connections between audiences and artists across a range of contemporary arts experiences with a focus on cabaret, circus, contemporary dance, emerging popular music, hybrid arts, innovative theatre and street culture. Within the space is a 300-seat performance space, modern art gallery, artist studios, a screening room, workshops and theatre, music, dance and circus rehearsal spaces.
