John Mills Himself

Drawing focus to food and drink miles, the local economy and organic fare, John Mills Himself is a cafe meets bar by Marcus Allison from Bunker, and Helen Bird and Billerwell Daye from Street Food Australia and Pearler studio. Set at the end of an Elizabeth Street driveway and tucked beneath Archives Fine Books, John Mills Himself sees no shortage of natural light filtering through high-set windows. The cafe will rotate local blends across three grinders, with two dedicated to espresso-based coffee and one to filter blends. Fresh pastries fill the petite space with buttery smells, while the usual sweet suspects from Levain line the counter. The bar half will see a selection of cocktails, salumi, cheese, bread and housemade pickles available to nibble, alongside peanuts from Kingaroy.
