Montrachet
Purveyors of fine wine and French cuisine will appreciate Montrachet’s sumptuous menu and thoughtfully selected wine list reminiscent of a beautiful brasserie in Paris. Eponymous owner Thierry Galichet opened the doors to Montrachet 2004 and has since garnered a sterling reputation among locals. The long, narrow restaurant features a long red leather sofa that runs the length of the room, while tables with white linen cloths are lined up perfectly with plump wine glasses and heavy cutlery. A glass of French wine is best savoured with classic dishes like Escargots en Cocotte – sails baked in little pots with garlic butter, tomato and spinach topped with puff pastry lid – or the moreish Souffle aux Crabe et Gruyere – a double baked souffle with sand crab meat and gruyere cheese finished with a light cream sauce.
