Canvas Club

Canvas is a humming little bar nestled amongst Woolloongabba’s antique precinct. Boasting speakeasy cocktail concoctions best sipped slowly, a neat range of boutique wines and beers, and absinthe with the full fountain ritual, Canvas is the perfect place to escape for an evening soiree. A murals cover the cosy venue’s walls, while rustic timber boards line the ceiling and hanging light bulbs cast soft lighting over vintage furniture. Out the back sits a secret garden, overflowing with lush foliage and festoon lights that help create perfect cocktail-sipping ambience. Canvas’ menu has been overhauled, starting with a host of snacks (Cuca sardines on ciabatta, shoestring fries with sriracha aioli and pork and duck terrines), share boards (charcuterie platters, cheese selection and dips), tapas (jamon figs with hazelnut and blue-cheese butter, chargrilled chicken negima yakatori and 12-hour beef cheeks with polenta crisp) and share plates (fried crumbed haloumi, kaarage calamari with kimichi and ceviche swordfish with coconut milk). Over at the bar, it’s all about cocktails – an evolving menu of signatures showcases the Canvas team’s flair for creative mixology, with roughly 20 concoctions offering something for everyone. Throw in a diverse selection of beers, wines and spirits  and you’ve got all the makings of a good time.
