Bringing the traditionally drab process of home compost to the forefront of aesthetics, design duo Ryan Hammond and Michael Koliner created The Worm Bin. With a design that resembles a piece of furniture rather than the traditional rubbish bin, the boys hoped to make a compost bin that was worthy of being kept in the kitchen, thus encouraging people to use it more often. Made from kiln-treated poplar, the dark-chocolate-hued contraption also features a planter underneath to catch the nutrient-rich water and hydrate the plants.
