Mrs Dalloway Hotplate

In Virginia Woolf’s novel Mrs Dalloway, the character of Clarissa Dalloway provides a feminist commentary about the need for women to be able to freely express themselves. Through the design of the Mrs Dalloway Hotplate, designer Nika Zupanc hopes to add to this conversation by dispelling the idea that household appliances are just for housewives. The svelte shape takes an haute couture approach to the design of the often stark kitchen appliance, nudging the hotplate away from being a mere kitchen gadget.
