Jimmy Wah’s

Named after the local watering hole in the 1987 Robin Williams flick Good Morning, Vietnam, Jimmy Wah’s has completely transformed the space left by The Funky Olive in Burleigh Heads into a slick Vietnamese restaurant and bar. The venue is the latest venture from Jake Cooley (formerly Social Eating House + Bar) and Shelly Greaves (the former owner of Verve in Broadbeach) and offers a modern Asian menu packed full of authentic flavour including betel leaves loaded with tender seared beef skirt, delicate ribbons of kingfish sashimi, aromatic phos and unbelievably crispy spring rolls. Designed for grazing and sharing, the fare is predominantly dairy-free and gluten-free and can be made vegetarian upon request. The bar offers a succinct but expertly curated selection of wines, craft beers and fanciful cocktails that are inspired by the food, think boozy bubble teas and plenty of spiced rum.
