Get adventurous with Goldtoast Supper Club

Enjoy a feast with a side of excitement at the Gold Coast’s own guerrilla dining society, Goldtoast Supper Club. The secret supper club or ‘guestaurant’ takes the ritual of dining outside traditional establishments and offers an alternative for those who like meeting new people and feasting on delicious food.

Goldtoast Supper Club has been popping up at parks, halls and miscellaneous other locations around the Gold Coast since 2011. The concept is the work of two local ladies, Bree and Chloe, who are home cooks and occasional caterers. The pair dream up fanciful new themes and menus for each event, some of the past occasions have been Breakfast for Dinner, Burgers, Boards & Brews and Indian Masala. The evening, for them, is about bringing people together in a secret location to drink, eat and have a laugh, maybe even leave as friends.

The location of each event is a tightly wrapped secret and is only revealed after a ticket is purchased. Guests dine from a set menu and the structure of the meal changes from tapas style to four course meals or something else entirely, it’s all part of the guerrilla dining experience. The next Goldtoast Supper Club event is an Izakaya Japanese-themed banquet that is being held in a secret location this Saturday night. Among the tasty selections will be Rafute (Okinawan braised pork belly), Gyu Nigiri (hand-pressed rice with miso-cured beef) and Hiyayakko (cold-dressed tofu topped with pickled vegetables and bonito flakes). The meal starts with a complimentary cocktail and ends with sweets and Japanese tea. So if you’re up for a little culinary adventure, head to Goldtoast Supper Club to reserve your seat.
