Popular Gold Coast eatery, Elk Espresso, has rolled out a new autumn menu that offers some new takes on old favourites as well as some exciting new additions that are well-suited to crisp mornings and warm days.

While salad for breakfast may seem a touch unorthodox, regulars to Elk Espresso are rather fond of the concept. The all new The Very Green Salad contains sauteed kale, peas, asparagus, brocolinni, avocado, silver beet, lemon thyme lebnah, toasted almonds, roast pumpkin and free range poached eggs and promises the perfect start to the day. For more indulgent breakfast options, try the pork belly and corn with chilli, Persian feta and poached eggs on sourdough or the hefty Ploughman’s Board that contains a cornbread roll, free range eggs, Bangalow smoked ham, spicy chorizo beans, sweet corn relish, avocado feta mash and oven roasted tomatoes.

The new breakfast and lunch menus offer seasonal produce that cater to both ends of the culinary spectrum from wholesome to indulgent. If you’ve got a hankering for the latter, it’s pretty hard to go past the Southern Style Fried Chicken Burger that contains red and green slaw, chipotle mayo, double smoked bacon and fresh tomato and sided with fries and wash it down with an Elvis Thickshake that is every bit as decadent as it sounds. To complement the new food menu, Elk Espresso has also introduced filter coffee that offers a smoother coffee experience than a regular espresso. See our Stumble Guide for opening times.
