Mosey about the Gold Coast Design Collective Markets

If you quite enjoy strolling from stall to stall, coffee in hand, browsing interesting and unique wares, there’s a new artisan market in town that you need to know about.

The RSL hall on Sixth Avenue in Burleigh Heads will be decked out with retro umbrellas, flamingos and flowers as the Gold Coast Design Collective Markets takes over. The new arts and craft market is on the first Sunday of every month and showcases wares from Gold Coast creatives including vegan soaps, handmade ceramics, fabric accessories and illustrated cards alongside bespoke furniture that is made from upcycled train track sleepers. The Gold Coast Design Collective Markets support local creatives and young designers, as well as opening a space for vintage sellers and DIY fanatics to sell their wares.

After you’ve wandered the stalls, pull up a seat and surrender to the sweet sounds from Lily Budiasa. The Gold Coast Design Collective Markets runs from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and entry is a gold coin with proceeds going towards the entertainment for the day and the Koala foundation.

Next month, the Gold Coast Design Collective will be hosting a retro street party at Bilinga across from the Gold Coast Airport to celebrate the opening of Cooly Rocks On. The entire street will be closed down for 70 stall holders, including street food trucks, and local creatives plus vintage and handmade sellers so make sure you keep an eye out for that one.
