Newrybar Merchants, a collaborative creative and retail space, has opened in the small town of Newrybar in the Byron Bay hinterland.

Housed in a 1890’s weatherboard property with all the charm and original features, the renovated space is now home to nine unique traders offering a beautiful selection of hand chosen and created item. Sibella Court brings her collection of interesting and covetable things in the form of The Society Inc, joined by Shannon Fricke’s Heart & Home homewares, Byron Bay florist Beautiflora, paper goodies from Fate & Fortune, fashion and treasures from Miller Trading Group. Tigmi Trading also add their beautiful and rare Berber rugs and Moroccan artefacts to the mix. Works from South African born artist Diana Miller adorn the walls and Paterson + Steele and Jai Vasicek’s gallery space displays original works and one-off pieces. The overall effect is that of a treasure trove of curiosities nestled in the rolling hills of Byron Bay Shire.

The Newrybar Merchants space is the result of a collaboration between creators, Zane Grier from cult fashion label Driftlab and Todd Miller from developer Zieglerbuild who shared a vision to create a place that brings creatives with a passion for design together under one roof. The resulting building complements the bustling hinterland village atmosphere and along with Harvest Cafe, home of the region’s local food, makes the town a destination for day trippers and adventurous folk alike.
