Camargue, James Street

Ladies boutique Camargue moves to James Street

Acolytes of local fashion boutique Camargue will be pleased to hear of the store’s new spacious milieu, situated on the ever-a-buzz James Street. Light streams through the front windows, highlighting the New York loft-like polished floors and sky-high ceilings.

Browsing through the cavernous new shop, find linen dresses from Moyuru International, soft leather bags from Art & Science and the bright patterns of Easton Pearson. A new label for the store, Josh Goot pieces arrive this weekend, with New York-based label Suno and French label Carven landing in October.

The crisp clean lines of Belgium label Sofie d’Hoore are also a recent addition to the Camargue collection, while Epice striped tote bags will please many a shoulder as the perfect carry-all for the beach this summer. Established in 1978, Camargue has been dressing local and visiting dames in luxury garments ever since. Gents tagging along on shopping expeditions are even catered for in the form of handmade leather shoes by Tuscan designer Guidi.

Run by mother-daughter duo Shan and Prue Bauer, Camargue is the latest addition to the growing James Street shopping scape.
