Men raise hems for summer dressing

Men raise hems for summer dressing

Looking to the elite fashions of the European runways, an emerging summer trend amongst the debonair gents of the front row is the shortened suit paint. Taking the elegance of a stately tailored suit and pairing it with a casual exposed ankle, this suit style complements the warmer seasons – or Brisbane weather, most of the time.

Taking the cuffed jean to the next level, a shortened hem on a suit pant is devoid of folding, preferring to remain perfectly straight and invisibly stitched. An additional ‘keeping cool’ element of this look is the absence of a sock between the hem and your monk-strap brogues. Wear a seersucker suit with a crisp white shirt and structured shoe, or opt for a light royal blue tone paired with casual footwear for a relaxed look.

On the other end of the shortened-pant trend, try cuffing printed pants, or wrangling a cuffed jean with patterned sock combo. Extra kudos if your printed pants, patterned socks and well-defined footwear all clash beautifully.
