London’s Merc clothing arrives at Blonde Venus, Fortitude Valley

Patriotic to the colours of the Union Jack, while paying homage to London’s tartan-dressed punk past, Merc’s red, white and blue wintery range puts a sharp new twist on a classic palette.

Founded in London in 1967 by Javid Alavi, Merc clothing began as a line for the mods and skinheads of London’s alternative scene. And while styles and subcultures have moved on, Merc continues to reflect the brand’s proud heritage with a sleek, modern edge.

The Jenkins Reversible Harrington jacket is a novel take on the Classic Harrington, with the usual button funnel neck, ribbed cuffs and hem and twin-button flap for all those loose pennies. Pair with black jeans and well-worn Chuck Taylors for a spruced up punk-meets-greaser look, or don cream chinos to prep-up the plaid. Merc knits, shirts and jackets are now in store at Blonde Venus in Fortitude Valley.
