Uncommon Ground solves large-shoe woes

As Julia Roberts wisely quipped in Notting Hill, folks with big feet need large shoes. While this may be stating the obvious, it seems that lasses with feet larger than a size 10 have a difficult time when trying to fit shoes that fit snugly to their feet. Coming gallantly to the rescue of large-footed ladies across Australia is online footwear retailer, Uncommon Ground.

Uncommon Ground’s founder Krissy Crawford has feet that will happily snuggle into a size 11 shoe, but she had trouble finding brands that offered shoes in her size. After looking into the dilemma faced by ladies with larger feet, Krissy discovered that approximately one in seven Australian women between the ages of 18 and 35 have a shoe size of 10 or above.

In her quest to find shoes that not only fitted her feet, but were also aesthetically pleasing, Krissy discovered a number of brands that filled the criteria. The range of shoes she discovered, which includes flats, sandals, boots and heels, is now available online at Uncommon Ground. Brands include Sydney-based labels The Horse and dot&pete., as well as Kathryn Wilson shoes from New Zealand. The shoes start at size 9 and go up to size 13.
