The Sock Thief

The Sock Thief dresses up local feet

Whether you’re wearing them outwardly with pride or keeping them hidden as your happy little secret, a snappy pair of socks is certain to put a spring in a lad’s step.

No matter how misguided the rest of your get-up, a sharp pair of socks can forgive all manner of clothing-related sins. Heck, these socks are so debonair we’d even pardon the wearing of buckled man-sandals over the top of them. As the creative collaboration of Sydneysiders Tim Collins and Kristina Stankovski, The Sock Thief offers an online hub for gents who want to dress up those ankles without having to endure the pain of shopping.

The sock purveyor has pooled together three quirky brands from around the globe to produce a colourful collection of fabric indulgences for your feet. Take Oybō, which has been designed by a bunch of fun-loving Italians with a penchant for asymmetry. Drawing inspiration from the common conundrum of a mismatched pair of socks, Oybō ensures that your left sock will never match your right again. Copenhagen’s Democratique Socks are all about colour and collaboration, while the father-and-son team behind Korean brand Yarn Works shows what can happen when time-honoured experience meets the creativity of youth.
