Sunshine Coast artist illustrates surfboards and skateboard decks
Gentle ripples in the ocean, the curl of a wave just before it breaks, a surfer’s silhouette at sunset waiting for the next set to roll in – these are the moments that move the hand of local illustrator Shannon Palmer.
Watching a finely detailed portrait or an intricate pattern blossom from an HB pencil is a rare luxury. Even more fortunate are the feet that are set upon the artwork to dance on the waves or carve up the street. Sunshine Coast visual artist Shannon Palmer takes inspiration from the ocean and nature to craft a gorgeous range of illustrated timber surfboard fins, skateboard decks, hand planes and artworks.
