TWE Rachel Castle

Swathe your sleeping quarters in Rachel Castle linens

In the past we may have been partial to crisp white sheets, topped with a plump white doona cover and fluffy white pillows akin to French country furnishings. These days, however, we take delight in making our sleeping quarters as colourfully chaotic as possible.

It could be said that the recipe for the work of Rachel Castle is one part whimsy, two parts colour and a sprinkle of smile-inducing sunshine. Currently nesting in Sydney, Rachel is a designer and an artist who hand-paints linen wall hangings, cuts out felt letters to stitch together sweet sayings, and prints polka dots onto manchester.

Founded in 2008, CASTLE is Rachel’s namesake brand, under which she releases beautiful and playful pieces for the home. The artworks are all sewn, screened and painted by Rachel, while the cotton bedlinens are made and handprinted in Australia. The Pegboard spot makes for a staple fitted sheet – a classic base to layer your clashes of colour upon. Mix and match banana pillowcases with a Tutti Frutti flat sheet, and perhaps pop a pom pom-topped velvet cushion just so in the middle of the bed. Cue afternoon nap.
