After a long day in the garden or in the drying air-conditioning at work, there’s nothing more luxurious than smothering our busy hands in a lush layer of soothing botanical cream. As winter approaches, the desire for a healing hand cream of nature-derived ingredients increases, as we seek a lotion that is deeply moisturising but without the grease factor.
Launched in late 2010, myrtle & moss is the creation of Georgina Nelson. The Melbourne-based brand was built from a desire to create a stylish, scented range of botanical skincare that was not only nourishing, but would also look good on the vanity. Produced in small batches, myrtle & moss’s range is made from plant-based and botanical elements, with no harsh chemicals, parabens or SLS hidden amid the ingredients.
Amongst the two scent ranges – Mandarin, Lemon Myrtle and Orange Peel or Bergamont Rind, Tangerine and Geranium Leaf – are fine essential oils like Bergamont from Calabria in Italy, Egyptian Geranium Oil and Lemon Myrtle from northern New South Wales. The body lotion is enhanced with apricot kernel oil, shea butter and natural Vitamin E, while the hand cream features shea butter, rosehip oil and jojoba.
