Molten Store opens flagship on James Street

After six successful pop-ups and an online platform, Brisbane accessories brand Molten Store has now opened a flagship boutique in Fortitude Valley.

An otherworldly trove of glittering treasures has popped up on James Street, as Brisbane brand Molten Store opened its first permanent boutique on Saturday May 9. The location signifies somewhat of a homecoming for the label, with founder Jessy Cameron describing the shopping precinct as Molten Store’s spiritual home.

A series of custom-made Moon Phase tables, designed by architect Paul Owen and handcrafted by Michael Miscamble, represents various lunar moods while stowing the store’s treasures, as artist Susan Lincoln’s installation My Beautiful Landfill (2013) embodies the brand’s bowerbird aesthetic. The brand has come a long way since its conception as an online store in 2011, now enabling fans to run hands and eyes over the physical pieces, rather than computer screen. Join the flagship trove’s official launch event The Light Solstice this Saturday May 16 and swoop on jewellery, stationery, homewares, fragrances and accessories.
