Frock up for marie claire Up Late on James Street

Art, fashion and music will mingle at marie claire Up Late on James Street in Fortitude Valley tonight, Thursday March 12.

Whatever your plans for this evening, consider them scrapped. Instead, grab your credit card and make a beeline for the fourth annual marie claire Up Late gala, which kicks off on James Street tonight. From 6:00–9:00 pm, Brisbane’s fashion set will be tottering between boutiques, meeting designers, grabbing bargains and finding inspiration for their wardrobes. Get in early enough to be one of the first 1000 visitors to the marie claire pop-up stall at 19 James Street and you’ll also receive an exclusive gift bag full of goodies.

More than 70 retailers will be offering special offers and promotions on the night, while a bunch of your favourite designers will be on hand to talk style and fashion. Pop in to Camargue to meet Sarah & Sebastian jewellery designer Sarah Gittoes, swing by French Rendez-vous to chat with emerging designer Mariam Seddiq and make sure you get to Blonde Venus to see Verner designer Ingrid Verner launch her new collection, Home Wrecker. Lisa Gorman will be offering styling tips at the Gorman boutique, Gail Sorronda and Lorna Jane will be pottering around their eponymous stores, Queensland designers Lydia Pearson and Pamela Easton will be discussing their new collection at Easton Pearson and Kookai designer and founder Danielle Vagner will also be in-store.

Fashion and beauty editors from marie claire magazine will be offering personalised styling advice, while Optiko Eyewear will play host to an Australian-exclusive CÉLINE eyewear trunk show. Don’t miss a new multi-layered digital art project from TW Fine Art, Queensland Ballet’s Jack Lister, cinematographer Greg Henderson and artist Gert Geyer, which will be projected on to the wall of Scanlan Theodore. When you need a little downtime after all that festivity, head to the relax and refuel lounge. Find more information on the James St website and Facebook event page.
