Gorman and MAC Pro open on James Street

A stroll along James Street inevitably leads to shopping bags full and credit cards empty, and now shop stalkers are confronted with even more temptations as two new boutiques open their doors.

James Street shoppers are in for a treat this week with the opening of two new boutiques on the retail strip. Style stalwarts Gorman and MAC Cosmetics will both be ensuring Brisbane beauties are well dressed and groomed to perfection as they open for trading in Fortitude Valley.

Melbourne label Gorman has gained quite the cult following since it launched in 1999, winning fans over with its quirky prints and bright colour palettes. Designer Lisa Gorman’s winter 2014 collection dishes the perfect harvest-inspired threads to keep Brisbane dwellers cosy in the cooler months, while the new Hometime range will soon be available in the store’s loft. This is the second Gorman store to open in Brisbane, with the first sitting inside QueensPlaza in Brisbane City. Make-up aficionados can head to Australia’s third and and Brisbane’s first dedicated MAC Pro store to select their pickings from the premium cosmetics range. Whether you’re after a tube of iconic MAC lipstick or a quick tutorial at the communal make-up table, the new store at 46 James Street will offer an alternative to trekking to cosmetics counters within Myer and David Jones stores. The mezzanine level boasts a stylised event space, which will soon play host to masterclasses and technique events.
