There’s no denying we’re partial to a fruity fashion fix. Whether it’s donning a subtle banana-print sock or a head-to-toe fruit salad ensemble, these humble juicy crops have infiltrated our wardrobes and are here to stay.
So it naturally gave us great pleasure to discover the colourful creations of Fable Folk. The Melbourne-based label hand-paints timber stacking bangles in bright patterns, with each one finished with a matte beeswax polish. Our pick of the bunch is the secret watermelons bangle – a deep block green on the outside, with the red pulp and seeds imitated on the inside.
The brand aims to blur the lines between the beautiful and the ridiculous, drawing inspiration from traditional and indigenous craft, folk tales and pop culture, and emphasising colour and simplifying form. You’ll also find floral garlands painted on bangles, and dots and strokes in various bright hues gathered together into sets of three, amping up your usual level of wrist adornment.
