Holloway Essential Design

Learn about sustainable design from Holloway

When it comes to merging fashion and function, few have mastered the art as cleverly as the boys from Holloway Eyewear. Rack their brains at a one-day masterclass care of the Queensland Museum on September 22.

The fellows at Holloway Eyewear are a wealth of wisdom in the field of sustainable innovation, crafting sunglasses and watches from reclaimed and recycled materials as unorthodox as skateboards, guitars and car parts. Whether you’ve got the design itch or not, there’s still a lot to be learned from these skilful innovators, so Queensland Museum has put together an inspiring program that will see the Holloway directors sharing their wisdom with members of the public.

The full-day event on Sunday September 22 will feature engaging talks and interactive design experiments focused on the theme of ‘essential design’. A more in-depth four-day workshop will follow in October, which will invite participants to design and produce their own glasses under the expert guidance of the Holloway team. Tickets will soon be available online from the Queensland Museum website.
