Emma Mulholland collaborates with Pared Eyewear

Emma Mulholland knows how to rock a collaboration. Her hook up with cult French streetwear label Jennyfer sold out in 45 minutes in 2013. Now the Australian designer has simultaneously paired up with Celeste Tesoriero on jewellery and Pared Eyewear on sunglasses.

Complementing her clothing collections with Emma-tinged accessories, the designer showcased these new ranges alongside her spring/summer 2014/2015 collection Risque Business at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia this month – a year on from the designer’s debut solo show last year. Making references to John Hughes’ brat pack and Melanie Griffith in Working Girl, the collection slinks toward a 1980s resortwear vibe in muted pastels, rather than the bright neons we’ve come to crave from the young talent.

The jewellery replicates stationery – think paper clips embellishing earlobes and bull clips clamped on bags – while handmade acetate frames with zigzag arms complete the look. Dust off your New Balance sneakers and slip on with some sequin socks so you’re ready to nab these loud Emma Mulholland beauties when your pre-ordered frames arrive in July.
