dogstar offers a sneak peek of its winter 2013 collection
While our thoughts are currently preoccupied with sandals, breezy kaftans, fresh fruit smoothies and all things synonymous with summer, dogstar’s designer Masaya Yasuki is already dreaming of burnt orange leaves tumbling from the trees and mugs of hot chocolate as she puts the finishing touches on the label’s winter 2013 collection.
Glimpses of dogstar’s forthcoming winter collection have been released in a lookbook, offering a preview of the season’s upcoming trends. As with all of dogstar’s garments, the focus of the winter collection is attention to cut and the quality of each piece. Inspiration for the range came from dark femininity, as well as the idea of androgyny in fashion, to create a sense of mysticism and whispering of secrets that you can’t quite hear properly.
When you visit the dogstar boutiques during the coming cooler months, you can expect to see garments with theatrical geometric necklines that draw the eye in, sharp tailoring and clean lines, and a muted, shadow-like colour palette interspersed with flecks of crimson and gunmetal grey.
