Put your childhood LEGO to use with Dispatchwork

The apple of our youthful eye, LEGO provided many hours of enjoyment, building miniature cities for little yellow men (and women) to live in. But as we grew, the boxes of plastic fun became forgotten at the back of cupboards and under houses, stagnant until the next generation arrives.

Making use of these piles of unused building blocks is Jan Vormann, the creator of Dispatchwork. Essentially LEGO street art in layman’s terms, Dispatchwork uses plastic construction bricks to repair crevices and cracks in walls all over the world.

Brightening the cityscape, Dispatchwork fills the grey urban landscape with surprising bursts of colour, which are both removable and inoffensive. These bright patches act to make repairs in ramshackle street architecture, with people participating in cities the world over.

Next time you see a fissure in the pavement or chipped brick in a wall, pull out the old playtime supplies and set to work revamping the city.
