Deliver your finest single malt via a decanter

Handsome in shapings and substantial in pour-ability, the decanter is a suave addition to any mahogany bar top. Taking the act of drinking scotch or whisky to an artful level, the decanter instils the values of savouring and appreciating a glass of dark liquid.

Bolstering its repute as a dapper piece of barware, the decanter is not actually necessary to improve whisky. For drinking wine, a decanter allows the wine to aerate and breathe, while also separating the sediment from the liquid when pouring from original bottle to decanter. Whisky on the other hand does not require any separation, and the decanter’s purpose falls purely in the aesthetical.

A form of fanciful storage for liquor, it seems only the most exquisite drops could be worthy of such sophisticated architecture. However, the decanter also acts a perfect vessel to present wine or whisky anonymously. For a vintage elegance, hang silver tags around the neck of the bottle, the plates engraved with the type of liquid the bottle is to house. The Sergio or Boris decanters from Wheel&Barrow would make a stately accessory to any home bar cart.
