When it comes to parting with articles from your closet – no matter how many years they’ve been hanging unworn in there – a spring clean can be an emotional journey. Yet somehow this cleansing can feel slightly more justified if you reap a little reward in return or know the pieces are going to a good home.
Give your drobe a thorough detoxing and take your wares along to the Closet Cleanout at Eagle Farm Markets this weekend. Punters will line up their picnic blankets and tote in suitcases full of clothing, accessories and other knick-knacks from 7:00 am to 12:30 pm this Sunday March 16. Head along for a browse, or nab a last-minute stall spot to make a little spare change.
Faithful champion of upcycling Suitcase Rummage will also sprawl its pre-loved goodness across Reddacliffe Place this Sunday from 12:00–5:00 pm. While spots for each rummage sell-out quickly, head along for a gander and keep your eyes peeled on the website for the next market’s stall release.
The roaming market will also be hosting a special Suitcase Rummage + Crafternoon at Brisbane Powerhouse on Sunday March 30 this month. Held on the Performance Lawn – the grassy patch to the left of the historic building – the free crafternoon will see crafty folk gather together, bringing along their own projects and materials to transform into a new handmade treasure.
