Brooks Brothers The Great Gatsby

Channel your inner Jay Gatsby with Brooks Brothers

Perhaps you’ve read the book or seen the original film, or maybe ‘old sport’ has weaseled its way into your vocabulary of late. But if The Great Gatsby hasn’t yet tinged your lifestyle, the latest offering from Brooks Brothers may tilt your sense of dress towards the roaring twenties.

Mentioned several times within the original text by wordsmith F. Scott Fitzgerald, Brooks Brothers has designed a limited-edition menswear collection inspired by the costumes in Baz Luhrmann’s soon-to-be-released adaption of The Great Gatsby. The international retailer was also behind more than 500 outfits in the new film, drawing inspiration from the dreamlike realm of pristine rolling lawns and lavish parties of the original novel.

Produced in collaboration with the new film’s costume designer, Catherine Martin, the collection mixes Art Deco-esque day and formal wear, including tuxedos, suiting, shirts, ties, shoes and accessories. Designed to replicate the stylings of Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), the Brooks Brothers collection has been tweaked to be wearable in our current day.

To complete your new dapper look, Tiffany & Co. has also released the Ziegfeld Collection, including a pair of cufflinks in sterling silver and black enamel, inspired by the style and sophistication of the 1920s – the design featuring a finely traced ‘JG’.
