Shrug on a party shirt and keep summer going

While we’re quite partial to a classic palette of black, navy and brown when it comes to the wardrobe, we can’t help turn an eye towards the exotic printed shirts coming out of some labels’ closets at the moment.

Days spent lounging at the beach – with the air pungent with salt and sunscreen – may have faded, but fashion is not letting us give up the summer vibe too easily. Tropical shirts in frenzied prints of flamingos, pineapples, palm trees and the old hibiscus flower let our current tiki fever live on, with Mr Simple providing a collection of loud button-ups this summer.

A unique printed collared number can usually be found among the vibrant racks at Sunday Social, or drop by the Dangerfield corner at Myer for prints of ukuleles, beach foliage and swordfish among the styles.

Once you’ve got your party shirt sorted, The Hideaway awaits, embracing 1960s beach tunes, mai tais, hoola hooping and grass skirts on the first weekend of the month. The next event, dubbed Aloha Baby!, is on Friday February 1, with Surf’s Up Baby! on Saturday March 2.
