Every time-honoured Brisbane resident can pick that familiar scent of the legendary XXXX Brewery going about its business on Milton Road, but what many may not know is that the building also houses an impressive restaurant and bar. After closing for renovations over the past few months, the Alehouse is now back up and running – boasting a very distinctive Queensland sense of style. The fresh new space was designed by Brisbane-based firm Elm Interiors, with furniture and light fixtures from Darcy Clarke and a flowing layout that incorporates the surrounding greenery and showcases the stunning view. Take your beer into the sunshine on the breezy deck, relax in sofas near the barbecue or settle in to the central dining area for a sumptuous feast.

Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, the XXXX Brewery Alehouse is now offering extended trading hours as well as a brand-new menu, which complements the range of fresh beers available on tap straight from the brewery. Chow down on a grain-fed beef burger with smoked bacon, pickles, lettuce and cheese, a steak sandwich with wild rocket and beetroot, beer-battered fish with hand-cut chips or one of the daily specials scribbled on the blackboard. Of course no visit to the Alehouse is complete without a glass of Queensland’s iconic beer XXXX GOLD, the new XXXX GOLD Australian Pale Ale or wine on tap. Guests are also invited to make use of the many boardgames on offer or take a tour of the brewery.
