Wandering Man Espresso pops up at Northey Street
A new pop-up espresso bar has been doing the rounds of local events and providing in-house coffee for small businesses, and now Wandering Man Espresso has found a permanent patch of grass to call its own at Northey Street Organic Farmers Market.
Run by Jon Laker, Wandering Man Espresso has been organically growing a following through catering coffee for corporate functions and is now settling into regular locations on weekends. Jon took over Two Cups Espresso in Spring Hill in 2011 and sold the business last month, having been building up Wandering Man Espresso on the side for about nine months.
While Wandering Man Espresso has shaped its own recognisable brand through a recycled wood counter, astroturf flooring and soon-to-be-added seating, the cart easily adapts to host the branding of the company it is representing at each event – whether a car company, hotel, childcare centre or other coffee companies. Wandering Man regularly teams up with Fonzie Abbott Espresso to serve up a smooth cup to those attending Porsche’s driving school, while at Northey Street on Sundays, the pop-up coffee cart can be found pouring Di Bella coffee.
