Union St. Cafe, Spring Hill

Union St. Cafe opens in Spring Hill

Maintaining the quirky atmosphere of previous tenant Shot Espresso, Union St. Cafe is a new coffee offering gracing the back streets of Spring Hill.

Run by the ever-energetic Brisbane-based Frenchman Frederic Jouet, Union St. Cafe sees the works of local artists lining the walls along with a flurry of band posters. There’s also plenty of seating between the recycled wood tables in the main space and a semi-open porch with lounges to recline in. On the food front, quiches, filos and toasted Turkish sandwiches grace the counter, while the all-day breakfast menu is so affordable, you could almost eat two breakfasts for $20.

On the menu you’ll find the likes of Walnut and Date Bread, the classic Avocado on Sourdough and Baked Mushrooms with bacon, capsicum, onion and ricotta. Milkshakes please the local after-school crowd, while Belaroma coffee and Aromas teas keep the office workers perky.

Union St. Cafe also offers a prepaid coffee card, so you can secure your weekly coffee pocket money on a Monday and know you’ll get a caffeine hit each morning, without the need to rummage for coins or get cash out before work. The cafe is also open Saturdays for brunch until 2:00 pm.
