The Wine Gallery makes a playlist for your palate

It’s easy to create a playlist of your favourite songs, but it’s not as easy being able to mix and match your favourite wine. The Wine Gallery is a subscription service that delivers the best tastes based on your palate.

It can be a daunting experience wandering up and down the aisles of the bottle shop wine section – browsing labels upon labels with no indication of what might be good or bad can be tiresome. Aside from the odd knowledgeable staff member there is no one who can help lead the way reliably, every time. Like the musical term ‘deep cut’, which is used to refer to overlooked songs on albums, The Wine Gallery offers ‘deep batch’ wines – ones that you will not find in your local bottle shop, sourced from small, family owned wineries. The Wine Gallery is a business that aims to help guide customers through a wine experience, offering to ship a selection of wines to your door based off a simple wine palate quiz.

With a baseline for your preference, Banjo Harris Plane, a three-time winner of the Australian Sommelier of the Year, will pick three bottles that you are sure to love. Once your initial order arrives the fun begins. The Wine Gallery includes tasting notes, food paring suggestions and the stories behind each wine, as well as a follow up correspondence to gauge your preference of the wines selected. Based on your responses, The Wine Gallery team will further tailor their selections to better match your preferences. At any one time The Wine Gallery will stock 20–30 varieties, but will rotate brands and flavours depending on what they believe to be the freshest and best wines on the market. In addition to the wine boxes on offer, The Wine Gallery also sells individual bottles (should you hone in on a winner) and a range of gift boxes and gift subscriptions.
