Montague Road’s newest resident is ready to satisfy all of your produce needs, whether they be fresh, dry, or just downright delicious. It’s time to introduce your appetite to The Stores West End.

The Stores West End has taken over the corner of Montague Road and Raven Street, its fresh white building beckoning in passersby with the promise of foodie delights. The first of its residents to move in is its market, also named The Stores West End. The Stores market comes from the family behind Schulte’s Meat Tavern in the Lockyer Valley, who have been operating for four generations. The Schulte family brings its famed smallgoods, processed meats and paddock-to-plate butchery to The Stores, offering up a selection from some of Southeast Queensland’s finest producers, such as Yagaburne Beef, Fairview pork and its own house-smoked wurst, ham and bacon. Alongside this sits a fully stocked deli counter, a drool-worthy fromagerie and fresh locally sourced fruit and vegetables. In the fridges you’ll find a wide range of local products such as Kenilworth Cheese, and on the shelves you’ll find a selection of local and imported products, including LíráH vinegar and McClure’s Pickles.

Adjoining The Stores market is The Source Bulk Foods, bringing its extensive range of bulk products. The Source provides a waste-free shopping experience with no packaged products, encouraging shoppers to bring their own containers, grab a paper bag, or purchase a bottle or container to reuse again. A wide range of loose products is on offer, with everything from flour and dry baking goods to nuts, chocolates, dried fruit, grains and spices. The Source specialises in gluten-free, paleo and organic products, such as organic gluten-free pasta, paleo trail mixes and gourmet grain-free bircher muesli. You’ll also find a range of oils, condiments, honeys and syrups, as well as household items like shampoo, conditioner and dishwashing liquid. Not only is the encouragement of reusable containers waste-free, but The Source allows you to only purchase as much as you need, eliminating the waste of unneeded leftovers.

Big plans are still in the works for The Stores West End, with a bakery on the cards for the next few weeks, as well as the highly anticipated opening of gastropub London Fields next week from the talented team behind Public, Red Hook and Coppa Spuntino.
