The round-up: Nutella-infused treats worth trying

Brisbane is nuts about Nutella – it’s ok, so is everyone in The Weekend Edition office. More and more places around town are creating some of the most mouth-wateringly decadent treats using Nutella, and as we are all about sharing the love we figured it would be a good idea to list some of our personal favourite Nutella-infused treats to eat when the craving strikes.

Straight away, the easiest way to get a quick fix of Nutella is in doughnut form. Flour & Chocolate, Donut Boyz, nodo donuts and Doughnut Time all create delicious Nutella-filled offerings, just try and resist the temptation of only ordering one. Nutella-filled pastries are increasingly popular around town – must-try items include the Nutella calzonchino at Beccofino, the Nutella cruffin from Chocolate Komberry Co. and Northside Artisan Bakers, a Nutella and roasted pistachio rotolo from Marchetti and the Nutella scroll from Eat Street’s Mr Scroll.

La Dolce Vita, Communal Bar & Eat House, Cowch and Corbett & Claude all whip up delicious dessert pizzas, coated with Nutella spread and topped with banana, strawberries, hazelnuts and more. Bulimba’s Coco Bliss whips up a mean raw Nutella cheesecake, while Chester Street Bakery makes jaws drop at the sight of its Nutella pavlova cake. Les Bubbles and Miss Claudes Crepes are your go-to destinations for Nutella-filled crepes, while Shady Palms in Stones Corner, Southside Tea Room in Morningside and Milk Bar in Ashgrove are renowned for Nutella thick shakes and milkshakes.

It’s easy to go bananas over Harajuku Gyoza’s Nutella and banana dumplings, followed up by a Nutella cornucopia at Nitrogenie. Zeus Street Greek has left many gobsmacked with its honey puffs coated in a Nutella drizzle. Nom Nom Natural Gelato is earning fans with its Nutella and salted caramel ice-cream sandwiches, but healthy eaters can still get their fix with a Nutella Bliss Bowl at Miss Bliss Whole Foods Kitchen. Finally, our number one way to enjoy Nutella with a jar and a spoon – don’t judge us, we know you do it too.
