The Roastery Cafe launches new lunch menu
Once you have the coffee trade down pat – traceable green beans, carefully roasted and brewed to accentuate the characteristics that stand to attention upon a first sip – it’s time to apply that discerning eye to the menu.
The team behind Rouge Coffee has been hard at work crafting a lunchtime menu to tempt coffee sippers to linger a little longer. The South Brisbane roastery has taken on a new young gun chef, French native Jordan Clavaron. Having spent time in the kitchen of two-Michelin-star restaurant L’atelier de Joel Robuchon in Paris, as well as working with Manu Feildel of My Kitchen Rules fame at L’etoile in Sydney, Jordan has now turned his attention to plating up a lunch menu of classic, simple dishes that draw on his French background.
Focusing on simple meals cooked well, the new lunch menu at The Roastery Cafe boasts winter staples like a seasonal soup with a crunchy baguette and mushroom bruschetta with thyme and Meredith Valley goats cheese. For those who enjoy wrapping their chompers around a hearty midday sandwich, the cafe is dishing up chicken, steak and meatball options, while those feeling a little more indulgent can opt for the locally sourced prime rib fillet with French-style potato puree, seasonal greens and red wine jus or the crispy-skinned Atlantic salmon with a kale, sweet potato and avocado salad. Drop in Monday to Friday to work your way through the new lunch selection, or stick to the all-day breakfast offerings on weekends.
