Gather goods from The Produce Bulk Foods in Ashgrove
Kelly Duffy and Angelo Falco loved living in Ashgrove, but they noticed something was missing – there wasn’t a place where they could get their health and organic foods in the one place. Deciding to take matters into their own hands, they opened The Produce Bulk Foods on Waterworks Road.
The name says it all really – The Produce Bulk Foods is brimming with a range of approximately 170 different bulk-food lines, aiming to provide locals with a wide range of produce to select from. The selection is largely organic, and includes a curated range of packaged goods alongside the plethora of tubs, tanks and jars containing loose food. The concept is simple – to reduce waste and unnecessary packaging, but also to allow shoppers to grab only the amount that they need. Let’s face it, sometimes you don’t need 1.5 kilos of spirulina.
The Produce’s range includes pasta, rice, grains, legumes and seeds, as well as speciality baking goods, cereals, salts, teas and more. A wide selection is also gluten-free, with a number of products you may not be able to find anywhere else. Liquid essentials are on offer also, including oils, syrups, vinegars and sauces – you can even stock up on liquid cleaning products. Customers are encouraged to bring their own containers, or you can grab a paper bag or glass container in-store. Packaged lines include a range of snacks, Barambah Organics dairy products, Byron Gourmet Pies, Inika make-up and Wild Nature beauty products.
If you can’t wait until you get home for your health-food fix, you can grab a delicious smoothie or juice from the in-store cafe, and pair it with a deliciously healthy raw treat.
