Artisan treats and experimental flavours at The Doughnut Bar in the City

Just when you thought sweet treats couldn’t get any more creative, The Doughnut Bar ups the ante with its new scrolled ice cream, boasting some truly inventive flavour combinations.

The red and white kombi that was synonymous with the word doughnut has parked in the Wintergarden, opening a fully-fledged store from which seekers of sweet treats can obtain heavenly goodies. The Doughnut Bar has been operating for close to a year and is now planting its roots in the Brisbane CBD, complete with new menu items and updates to its signature recipes. Located on the bottom level of the Wintergarden, the new store offers a range of delicious doughnuts and cronuts, with a vintage kombi trailer providing secluded seating for those looking to stuff doughnuts into their face in peace.

In addition to new recipes for its brioche doughnuts, cream-filled cronuts and decadent doughnut shakes, The Doughnut Bar is also debuting a new menu item called scrolled ice cream. This low-sugar, low-fat and low-air alternative to traditional ice cream is created using specially imported cold plates that freeze gelato liquid to minus 20 degrees. Prior to being moulded into delicious scrolls, the gelato is topped with a range of ingredients. Flavours include unique options such as Dorito, salted caramel, Tiny Teddies, matcha, and Vovoreo (raspberry, coconut and oreo) to try, with the option to build your own flavour arriving in the coming weeks. The Doughnut Bar shop also serves Blackboard Coffee to further boost your sugar hit. For more information, head to the Stumble Guide.

Thursday March 3 marks The Doughnut Bar’s first birthday, and to celebrate the store will be giving away free scrolled ice creams from 3:00–6:00 pm.
