Take a bite into Scenic Rim Eat Local Week

Scenic Rim Eat Local Week will dish up a smorgasbord of food and farming events from Saturday June 27 to Sunday July 5.

Just an hour’s drive from Brisbane, the Scenic Rim region is bursting with seasonal produce, gourmet food products and fresh, country air. If you’ve never had the pleasure of setting boot on land, this all-ages community event is your perfect chance. Scenic Rim Eat Local Week will be feeding and educating local families from this Saturday June 27 to Sunday July 5 via more than 50 free and low-cost events, from farm tours to cooking classes to producer dinners.

A highlight will be the Winter Harvest Festival on Saturday July 4, which will feature local food producers like Scenic Rim Olives, as well as cooking demonstrations from culinary stars like QAGOMA executive chef Josue Lopez. Other weekend events include the Farm Gate Festival in The Lost World and Hands-on Biodynamic Field Day this Saturday June 27, the Beechmont Zest Fest and Countryside Lunch on Sunday June 28, Brauer Organic Farm Tours and Kalfresh Carrot Field Day on Saturday July 4, and a cooking demonstration from Brenda Fawdon and Spicers Peak Long Table Lunch on Sunday July 5.
