Roost Coffee opens at Room 60, Kelvin Grove

On Saturdays you’ll find a line of caffeine-hungry market go-ers lining up for a steaming cup of perfectly crafted Roost coffee at The Village Markets at Kelvin Grove.

Now Roost has moved into a new weekday nook, sharing the space currently occupied by husky drinking den Room 60. Run by the same team behind the fleeting The Menagerie up on Kelvin Grove Road, Roost will offer the same espresso blends, filter brews and hot chocolates that locals love.

Offering a selection of single origins as well as a house blend crafted especially for Roost by Supreme Roasters, take your coffee on the 70s lounge suits indoors, or pull up a chair in the astroturfed outdoors. Filtered brew beans come from West-Enders Cup Coffee, including Brazilian, Ethiopian and Costa Rican blends this week. Hot chocolates made from melted down organic chocolate from Bunker are also on the menu and include a vegan option, along with Nine Owls organic hand-blended teas.

Try a natural chai latte of cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, star anise and bay leaves, spiced with iron bark honey and fresh cracked pepper. A simple, though delicious, food menu includes avocado on your choice of toast, gluten-free chocolate brownies, almond croissants, frittatas and cookies.
