TWE Surf, seafood and symphony festival

Major food festivals draw foodies and chefs to Queensland

The chefs who craft our region’s finest dishes and the customers who consume them will converge at key food events across Brisbane and the Gold Coast this weekend.

Surfers Paradise Festival launched on the Gold Coast last week, luring the locals to the foreshore esplanade for live music, art exhibitions and plenty of noshing. It looks like the feasting is set to continue this weekend, as Surf, Seafood & Symphony  kicks off on Saturday April 12. From 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, the festival’s major food event will be showcasing the best local seafood sellers and chefs, with food stalls dotted along the esplanade. Cooking demonstrations will roll on throughout the day and, come 7:00 pm, the entertainment will be taken up a notch with the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra taking to the beachside stage.

Meanwhile, closer to home, dedicated local food industry event Fine Food Queensland will be filling the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from Sunday April 13 to Tuesday April 15. The three-day program is designed for food industry professionals and will see more than 200 exhibitors, live demonstrations, masterclasses and industry recognised competitions inspiring our best local chefs and artisan food producers.
