Bucci Restaurant opens sister establishment Pronto Bucci

Bucci Restaurant has expanded its presence on James Street with the opening of its new casual breakfast and lunch spot, Pronto Bucci.

Tucked behind the restaurant, Bucci’s bambino opened for full service on Monday morning, catering to the growing breakfast and lunchtime crowds milling about the lower end of Fortitude Valley. The premise of Pronto Bucci is to deliver simple fare that can be prepared quickly for takeaway or as a quick bite to eat. Those taken by the cuisine at Bucci Restaurant will be happy to know that Pronto Bucci’s menu has been designed by the restaurant’s head chef and co-owner, Shaun Malone. Shaun took inspiration from Italian street food when crafting the menu, and the result is fresh and simple flavour combinations such as tomato, mozzarella, basil, olives and pesto.

For breakfast and brunch, Pronto Bucci serves fruit salad, porridge, pastries, and bacon, eggs and tomato relish sandwiched between sourdough. When lunch rolls around, the focus turns to Italian breads stuffed with moreish fillings. To start, you choose either piada (traditional Italian flat bread) or panino (rustic sourdough) and then ponder the list of filling options until a combination such as pulled pork, smoked provolone and agro dolce cabbage catches your eye. Daily specials such as salads and sweets also rotate through the cabinet. Pending the approval of a liquor licence, Pronto Bucci will also have Peroni on tap and Dal Zotto wine on the drinks list.

The team is also trialling online ordering and, if successful, could lead to a delivery service.
