Piggy Back carries all-day breakfast to Jindalee

As a wise Leslie Knope once said, why would anybody ever eat anything besides breakfast food? Understanding that breakfast shouldn’t just be reserved for early mornings, Piggy Back has opened to satisfy your bacon, egg and bircher cravings well into the afternoon.

Tucked away on a leafy suburban street in Jindalee is Piggy Back, the latest venture from the Venzin Group. The cafe takes an unassuming corner spot of a string of local shops, luring passers-by in with the inviting smell of fresh Fonzie Abbott coffee. Similar to sister venue Pawpaw in Woolloongabba, Piggy Back’s interior features white-washed and natural timber finishes, with the trees outside the wide arched windows casting shadows on the royal-blue walls.

The wholesome menu has been written by Pawpaw’s head chef, with hints of the Venzin Group’s signature style coming through – all of which make your tummy grumble with delighted anticipation. Breakfast is served all day from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, catering for both the health conscious and those that always opt for a side of bacon, no matter what. You’ll find classics like French toast, bacon and eggs, and bircher muesli, or more adventurous dishes such as the barbecue pulled pork, potato and chive hash cake with sauteed kale and chipotle sour cream. For those that prefer more defined meal habits, lunch is also served from 11:30 am, with choices including watermelon tabouleh and the ‘KFC’ – Korean fried chicken, kimchi, iceberg lettuce and bulgogi mayonnaise on a toasted brioche bun with shoestring fries. Kiddies are catered for too, and can munch on ham and cheese soldiers or bacon, scrambled eggs and toast.
