Pig ‘N’ Whistle waltzes into West End

The popular pub and restaurant chain has expanded to Brisbane’s inner south, setting up a brand new spot on Melbourne Street in West End.

Known for its easy-going atmosphere and quality food and drink, Pig ‘N’ Whistle has gradually expanded its presence within Brisbane, becoming a reliable destination for lunch, dinner or drinks. The new spot features a new open-plan dining and bar spot formerly occupied by Era Bistro in West End, seating upwards of 550 guests and covering 612sqm. Boasting vaulted ceilings, a main bar space and dining area separated by a refrigerated wine bottle display and intricately detailed 10.3 metre bar and barista station, Pig ‘N’ Whistle West End has covered all possible bases when it comes to utilising the space effectively. The bar has been fitted out with state-of-the-art beer taps, with one of the largest range of craft beers available in the area as well as a substantial wine offering.

Head chef Hossein Moshtaghi is helming the kitchen, putting together the comprehensive menu that offers a range of meals not typically seen on a Pig ‘N’ Whistle menu. Spanning breakfast, lunch and dinner options, the menu offers modern favourites and traditional pub fare with a refined approach. From 7:00 am, Pig ‘N’ Whistle West End opens for breakfast, helping diners kick-start their morning with a range of dishes worth rising early for. Popular favourites such as bacon and eggs, haloumi and avocado on sourdough and muesli share menu space with intriguing options such as cherry ripe French toast, a full English breakfast and a selection of five breakfast smoothies. The rest of the menu is divided into light meals, share plates, British pub classics, steaks from the paddock, pizzas, mains and desserts as well as a few lunch only options. There is something to cater for every diet and hunger level, but standouts include the beef & Guinness pie, chicken and mango salad, meaty beef short ribs and the passionfruit roulade for dessert.
