Pig ‘N’ Whistle evolves in Indooroopilly

After 15 years of serving hungry locals, Indooroopilly’s Pig ‘N’ Whistle has expanded into a stylish new dining destination, now incorporating seafood eatery Fish Feathers, Pig’s Ear Wine and Grill and Phuc Deli-Viet.

Following hot on the heels of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre’s major redevelopment and expansion, long-serving gastropub Pig ‘N’ Whistle has now had a makeover of its own. The Mantle Group mainstay has adopted a new colour scheme and branding, while also adding two fresh new offerings. Standing proudly at the front of the new venue, Fish Feathers specialises in fresh seafood sourced from trusted local suppliers with a commitment to sustainable fishing practices. The modern 80-seat restaurant dishes up lunch and dinner seven days a week, as well as wine and beer on tap. Peruse the catches of the day or sink your chompers into twice-baked crab soufflé, Mooloolaba king prawn spaghetti with calamari, scallops and mussels, or the signature Fish Feathers pie featuring tiger prawns, Moreton Bay bugs and scallops.

Tucked just behind Fish Feathers, Pig’s Ear Wine and Grill is now serving prime cuts of beef and quality drops from around the globe atop handcrafted spotted gum furniture. Seasonal produce has been sourced from Mantle Group’s purpose-made organic farm in Pullenvale and growers around South East Queensland, while quality beef cuts come direct from the company’s own line of Kimberley Red. A paddock-to-plate philosophy is evident in dishes like crispy-skin Hunter Valley duck breast and confit leg with smashed peas, almond puree and fig, and prosciutto-wrapped Goldfield region lamb loin with pea puree, gnocchi and cabernet jus. Finish off the feast with a selection of handcrafted Woombye cheeses or roasted Bundaberg strawberries with pistachio praline. The 2500-bottle wine cellar at the back of the restaurant hints at the huge selection of handpicked Australian and international wines on offer.

Long-serving venues Pig ‘N’ Whistle and Phuc Deli-Viet have both undergone renovations, now serving new dishes in fresh spaces. Hugging Station Road, Pig ‘N’ Whistle’s light-filled interior is dotted with greenery and TV screens, while offering tables both inside and outside. Charcuterie plates and pizzas sit comfortably alongside British pub classics and heartier mains. Around the corner, Phuc Viet-Deli is pouring pints of Asahi and fruit frappes to complement dishes such as crispy duck dumplings and the popular pho. The fully licensed bistro offers both beer and wine on tap – a rare offering in a Vietnamese eatery.
