Stock up on goodies at South Bank’s new grocer The Pantry on Grey

Like most visitors to South Bank we’ve been gradually craning our necks further skyward, watching as Southpoint nears closer and closer to completion. We can give our necks rest for the moment, as some of the development’s first retailers are on the cusp of opening their doors this Friday. The Pantry on Grey is an expansive and modern providore that is taking a multi-faceted approach to the grocery scene. From cold-pressed juice and cheese to bouquets of flowers and locally sourced meat – The Pantry on Grey has just about anything you could want on your trip to the shops, plus everything you didn’t know you needed until now.

You might have already heard that Southpoint is brining the goods when it comes to food, and in addition to boutique burger joints and coffee spots the new development also harbours one of the most comprehensive grocers you are likely to see. The Pantry on Grey is a one-stop shop for essentials to fill up your kitchen, picnic basket or lunch box. Spearheaded by second-generation grocer David Faranda, The Pantry on Grey places customer service and quality produce above all else, sourcing a predominantly Australian range of goods in addition to a host of extra offerings that you won’t find at your corner store. The fit-out is clean and modern, with a new-age black and timber theme drawing the eye to the products on the shelves.

The Pantry on Grey is divided into sections to make finding what you are after easy. Your best bet is to pay a visit to the cafe to grab yourself a cup of Paradox coffee – this organic Gold Coast bean is exclusive to The Pantry on Grey in Brisbane. Now that you’ve got your caffeine fix, take the opportunity to wake up and smell the roses at the attached florist, which stocks high-quality bouquets featuring on-trend greenery and flowers. Further along sits the juicer, which serves cold-press juices, healthy bites and a range of takeaway goodies such as fresh salads, sandwiches, wraps and take-home meals made on site. Next is the butcher, which is manned by knowledgeable hands that will gladly offer nutritional advice, product traceability, cooking instructions and serving suggestions. Now you are ready to take on the grocer proper, with a smorgasbord of fresh produce, cured meats, sauces, gourmet cheeses, boutique snack food and more available at your fingertips.

If your pantry is looking pretty bare, head to Southpoint on Friday February 17 for the opening day of The Pantry on Grey. You can find all the details in our Stumble Guide.
